The dress is worked top-down. First, the front is worked flat to the bottom of the armhole. Next, stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge of the front to work the back. The back is also worked flat to the bottom of the armhole. The front and back are then joined, and the rest of the body is worked in the round. The hips are shaped with increases at the sides.
